Mr. P – Chukwu Mme

Mr. P, the Nigerian singer, songwriter, dancer, and record producer, returns with a fresh inspirational record titled Chukwu Mme. The song sees the talented performer explore a more reflective and spiritually focused side of his artistry. Known to many music lovers as Peter Okoye and as one half of the famous P Square duo, Mr. P has built a successful solo career that continues to showcase his versatility and distinctive musical identity.

Chukwu Mme arrives with a message centered around gratitude, faith, and appreciation for divine intervention. The title draws from the Igbo language and expresses the idea of acknowledging what God has done. Rather than focusing solely on the energetic dance oriented style often associated with Nigerian Afropop, the record takes a calmer and more reflective direction. Mr. P uses the song to communicate appreciation while delivering a melody that remains accessible to listeners of contemporary African music.

Mr. P first gained widespread recognition as a member of P Square, the musical duo he formed with his identical twin brother Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy. According to Wikipedia, the brothers became prominent in Nigerian music during the 2000s before pursuing separate solo careers. Mr. P subsequently established himself as a solo performer, releasing songs such as “Cool It Down,” “For My Head,” “My Way,” “Look Into My Eyes,” “Follow My Lead” featuring Wande Coal, and other records. His debut solo album, The Prodigal, was released in 2021.

With Chukwu Mme, Mr. P brings together his polished vocal delivery and a message that can connect with listeners who appreciate inspirational Nigerian music. Current music listings identify the record as a 2026 release, while several Nigerian music platforms describe it as a reflective song focused on gratitude and faith. The production provides room for his vocals and message to remain central, giving the song a warm contemporary Afropop character.

The release also adds another dimension to Mr. P’s evolving solo catalogue. From his years with P Square to his individual projects, he has continued experimenting with different sounds while maintaining the performance energy that made him popular. Chukwu Mme offers listeners another opportunity to experience that versatility through a song built around thanksgiving and personal reflection.
