Fola – 9 (Album 2026)

The title 9 draws inspiration from football, where the number is traditionally associated with the striker, a player responsible for leading the attack and scoring goals. FOLA connects this idea to his musical identity, presenting himself as an artist expected to deliver songs that connect with listeners.

The album contains 14 tracks that combine solo performances with collaborations from established artists. Its guest appearances include Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda and Zlatan. These collaborations bring together different vocal styles and musical influences while allowing FOLA to maintain his presence throughout the project.

The tracklist opens with “awade” and “how many?” before moving into “2am in toronto,” featuring Davido. Other collaborations include “treat u right” with Ayra Starr, “my type” featuring BNXN, and “hold u down” with Darkoo. The album concludes with “it’s over,” featuring Bella Shmurda and Zlatan.

Several songs on 9 explore romantic relationships, personal experiences and ambition, reflecting the different subjects addressed throughout FOLA‘s music. Tracks such as “waf,” “stubborn,” “in order” and “attention!” contribute to the album’s variety, while “crime” reworks the familiar Nigerian love-song tradition associated with 2Baba’s music.

With 9, FOLA continues developing his sound through melodic vocals, Afrobeats rhythms and collaborations with artists from different musical backgrounds. The album expands on the foundation established by his earlier releases and offers listeners a broader view of his musical direction. Download 9 by FOLA and enjoy listening to the album.
